About the Bajaj Family (Mr. Balwinder Bajaj and the Bajaj Family)
Chand Palace Parsippany is owned and operated by the Bajaj Family. At the head of
this clan sits Mr. Balwinder Bajaj, the man whose hard work and vision has made
Chand Palace what it is today: one of the premier Indian restaurants in New Jersey.
Chand Palace Parsippany is managed by Mr. Bajaj's two brothers Davinder and Ravinder,
who add their personal touch to every aspect.
Mr. Bajaj knew from a very young age that his passion lay in the hospitality industry,
specifically restaurants. "I always knew I would do this," he says, "I love this
business!"
He arrived in the United States in 1980 with little more than a suitcase. Soon he
found a job working in a restaurant, and with single-minded determination, the young
Mr. Bajaj saved up his earnings to eventually buy his own place. During this time,
he was also gathering and developing various recipes in hopes of fulfilling his
dream. In a few years, Mr. Bajaj opened up the very first Chand Palace in 1987 in
Morristown, NJ to rave reviews. He eventually sold this facility and opened the
first all-Indian banquet hall in Parsippany, NJ in1996, under the Chand Palace banner.
With his discerning passion for food, his keen business acumen, and the experience
of his family members, in 2007, Mr. Bajaj opened the second sister-location of Chand
Palace in Piscataway.
